Patroness of the Province acclaimed
There is no greater joy than in remembering one's
loved one! For the Carmelites, Our Holy Mother, St.
Teresa of Avila is our loving figure who serves as a
prototype for a life of prayer, contemplation and
apostolate. Our Province is dedicated to St. Teresa
of Avila and therefore on 15th October has more than
a reason to rejoice and celebrate the feast. The
celebration commenced with the Holy Eucharist
presided by Fr Pius James D’Souza, Provincial along
with the Provincial Councillors and the friars of
the Bengaluru region. Deep insights on St Teresa
were shared by Fr Deep Fernandes as he invited the
friars to live the friendship with Jesus as she
lived. After the mass, there was an American housie
game and the quiz on St Teresa of Avila was
conducted by Fr Vinod Lobo. The simple and
meaningful feast concluded with the monastic meal
prepared by Fr Jerald D’Souza, the delegate superior
of Sadbhavana. Apart from the friars of the
Bengaluru region, we had Fr Charles Serrao
representing the Mangalore region and Fr Vijay
D’Costa representing the Eternal City of Rome.
