PATRONESS EXALTED @ PUSHPASHRAMA
“O little Therese, a beautiful flower which shines
in great mercy of God! You are our Carmel’s little
one with a great message of God’s unending love”
The feast of the little flower of Jesus was
celebrated at the shrine of Infant Jesus
Pushpashrama with great pomp and joy as it is the
feast of our dear patroness! It was actually pre-poned
to 29th September i.e. on Sunday, in view of the
people’s attendance at the celebration! The shrine
was full as usual, as our friends came out in large
numbers to join us in this celebration of the feast!
Indeed, it is said, that Therese brings vocations to
Carmel! But for Pushpashrama, because of the
powerful intercession of St. Therese, for the past
years, we’ve had ample vocations, and these brothers
of ours have been very much involved in the
activities of the shrine! Even this year, it was
they who animated the liturgy! They enamored the
congregation with the melodious singing of the
choir, which led the worshippers into a higher realm
of divinity.
The solemn mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rovel
D’Souza, the dean of studies at Dhyanavana Institute
of Spirituality. He was joined by priests from
Pushpashrama. In his sermon Fr. Rovel accentuated
the theme of simplicity in love of God, and not
shedding our confidence in His providential love. On
a whole, the sermon resonated with the spiritual
richness of Therese’s spirituality.
After the liturgical celebrations, all were served
cakes as a mark of joining with the Carmelites in
the celebration.
