Solemnity of St Teresa of Jesus & Silver Jubilee of Fr Wilfred Pais at Santa Maria Della Scala, Rome

October 15, 2014 is a greatest day for the Carmelites all over the world as they celebrate the solemnity of St Teresa of Avila (Jesus), the reformer of the Carmelite Order. The Carmelites of Scala community had a reason to rejoice and celebrate on this festal day for two reasons. First of all, the community celebrated the solemnity of St Teresa of Jesus by inaugurating the fifth birth centenary of our Holy Mother. Secondly the community members glorified the Almighty God for the Silver Jubilee of the Religious Profession of Fr Wilfred Pais. The dual celebrations were solemnized during the Eucharistic banquet at 06-30pm. The solemn Eucharistic Banquet was presided over by His Grace Cirillo Vasil, Archbishop and Secretary for the congregation of the Oriental Church along with the twenty one community members of Scala. Fr Ivan Pinto, Rector of the community welcomed the congregation. Fr Rudolph Pinto through his melodious voice proclaimed the gospel which was the center of attraction. Archbishop in his homily highlighted the virtues and qualities of St Teresa of Avila. After the mass all the community members along with the Archbishop gathered around the dining table to share the festive dinner. The jubilarian Fr Wilfred Pais shared his experience in the garden of Carmel through his amazing words and then cutting the cake shared the joy of the jubilee among all the community members.
