To Serve and not to be Served
On 17th October 2021, the three Brothers namely John
Muna, George Masambu and Prosper Kaiza were ordained
Deacons by Most Rev. Telesphore Richard Mkude,
Bishop Emeritus of Morogoro, Tanzania. The Solemn
Eucharistic celebration commenced at 9-00 am, at Our
Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Kihonda. The bishop in
his homily instructed the Deacons to follow the
example of Jesus who came to serve and not to be
served. He also invited the Deacons to be rooted in
the life of prayer. Rev. Fr Praveen Frank, Regional
Vicar expressed his gratitude to the Bishop for his
love and concern towards the Carmelites. He also
thanked formators and superiors who accompanied
these Deacons through their formative years. Special
thanks goes to Fr Aureus Mwinuka, the Parish Priest
who made all the necessary arrangements of the
Diaconate. The celebration was attended by a large
number of faithful, religious and the priests. After
the mass, a short programme was organised where the
newly ordained Deacons were felicitated by the
Carmelite friars. The centre of attraction was the
wishing song cum dance by little children which
added more joy to the celebration. The Vicariate of
Tanzania rejoices with these three Deacons and prays
for God’s blessings upon them.
