First Holy Communion at St. Mary’s Church, Hegde Nagar
It was a day of celebration and jubilation at St. Mary’s church Hegde Nagar on the 20th of May 2022 as the Twenty-three children received Jesus for the first time through the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The solemn mass was presided over by Fr. Boniface D’ Souza, the parish priest and the preacher was Fr. Sunil Monis from Geddalahalli community. In his inspiring homily, he insisted on how to make Jesus as our friend in our daily lives. The melodious choir was conducted By Fr. Jovel Oliver. The whole liturgy was meaningfully animated by the children who received the first Holy Communion. Fr. Boniface D’ Souza expressed his sentiments of gratitude to the sisters who conducted classes for the first Holy Communion children for a month. The children who received the first Holy Communion were given a scapular and Rosary. As we congratulate these children, may these children grow in their faith and come closer to Christ.
