“My Jesus my Love, I resolve to be yours”
The first religious profession of five of our novices was celebrated on the first of May 2022 at Tapovana, the novitiate house of our province. The novices made their simple profession in the hands of Rev. Fr. George Santhumayor, the Provincial Superior. The celebration was solemnized by as many as twenty Carmelite priests who concelebrated with the Provincial. The parents and the family members of the novices along with other friends and benefactors witnessed their simple yet grand celebration of the profession. The Eucharistic celebration commenced at 10.30 am with the introduction by Fr. Vishan Vinu Monis who was the master of ceremony of the entire liturgical celebration. Fr. Provincial inspired the novices and all the faithful gathered with his words of wisdom during the homily. “My Jesus my Love, I resolve to be yours” was the theme chosen by the novices for their Profession. “World is too alluring, especially in this twenty-first century, but these young brave men have resolved to be the Lord’s” said the Provincial and congratulated these five young energetic novices.

The voices blended perfectly during the Eucharistic as one symphony in glorifying and worshiping God; thanks to the Choir conducted by our Philosophy brothers from Pushpashrama, Mysuru, under the careful guidance of Fr. Richard Menezes. Fr. Ashwin D’Silva along with the brothers managed the sound system without any flaw. Fr. Richard Menezes steered the felicitation programme after the Eucharistic celebration with his wit and humour. He introduced the five newly professed brothers to all the gathered, their parents were also felicitated and congratulated for offering their sons to the service of the Mother Church. Fr. John Pinto the Superior of Tapovana raised the vote of thanks. The celebration ended with the agape meal prepared in the monastery itself by Fr. John Pinto.

Thus, with this event, the number of the religious in our province has increased by 5 digits. On the previous day 30th April, six postulants were inducted into the Novitiate. Fr Provincial invited them to remain close to Jesus free from all the distractions of the world. We offer our prayers to the novices and the newly professed Brothers.
