CONVOCATION AT RYSHIVANA
The annual convocation programme of “Ryshivana: A centre for inner
silence and contemplation,” was held on 14 March 2022 at 6.00 p.m. Very
Rev Fr. George Santhumayor, the Provincial Superior of the Karnataka Goa
Province celebrated the thanksgiving Eucharist. After the mass there was
the convocation ceremony for 27 participants who completed the eight
months’ certificate course in spirituality. Rev Fr. Deep Fernandes, the
Councillor in charge of Spirituality, released the annual souvenir and
gave a touching message encouraging the participants. Fr. Archibald
Gonsalves, the Director of the centre in his Convocation address gave a
bird’s eye view of the Institute. Fr. Provincial released the book Path
to Happiness, written by Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues, a comparative study of
Buddha and St. John of the Cross. He then awarded the participants with
certificates and encouraged them to live a life of sanctity as a path to
genuine happiness. The participants besides singing a melodious chorus
and a welcome dance staged a melodrama. The programme was well attended
by the fathers of the Mangalore region. The participants thanked the
community fathers for their accompaniment. Fr. Lancy Mendonca, the Dean
of studies, rendered the vote of thanks. Thus the fourteenth convocation
ended with the singing of the Ryshivana Anthem followed by Agape.
