OCDS enter Aspirancy at Mapusa
The long-standing dream of having the Order of the Secular
Carmel (OCDS) was realized on 19th June 2022, Solemnity of
the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. After the completion of
the Come and see programme, 14 members entered into the
first stage of formation, that is Aspirancy. The main
Celebrant for the Inaugural mass was Rev. Fr. George
Santhumayor the provincial superior of the Karnataka Goa
province along with con-celebrant Frs. Vinod Lobo the
secretary, Ivo Dias the superior of Avila Jyothi Seminary,
Macson Dabre the director, Jason Couthino and Rev. Fr.
Walter Lobo. Provincial in his homily highlighted the
importance of the presence of Jesus in our lives. Soon after
the homily Provincial gave away the Carmelite Emblems to the
OCDS Members which reminds them of their commitment to the
Carmelite Order. He also explained to the OCDS members the
importance of the Secular Carmel and its goal and wished
them every success as they begin their journey in Carmel. We
also congratulate Fr Macson Dabre, the Spiritual Assistant
of the OCDS who has moved heaven and earth to establish the
OCDS community at Mapusa, Goa.
