Our Lady of Mount Carmel Honoured at Sadbhavana
The solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated by the Sadbhavana friars on July 16, 2023, with great grandeur. Priests and religious nuns from the vicinity, donors, well-wishers, and close associates of Sadbhavana were all invited. Fr. Richard Menezes, the superior of the Carmel Niketan at Geddalahalli, presided over the festal mass. In his homily, he urged everyone to approach Jesus through our Blessed Mother and emphasized both the promise of the scapular as a symbol of maternal protection and Mary's unique status as a sister to the Carmelites. Following the mass, Rev. Fr. Richard Britto, Rector of St. Peter's Pontifical Seminary, blessed the scapulars. Mr. Leonard Peter and his family lead an outstanding choir. Fr Vinod Lobo animated the liturgy. Fr Prakash D'Cunha, Provincial Councillor expressed words of gratitude to everybody who responded to our invitation on behalf of the Provincial, who was unable to be present due to prior engagements. The meals were blessed by Fr Benny Kootanal, Director of IIS. Everyone was served lunch following the festal mass. May our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness, mother, queen, and sister of the Carmelites protect and guide us all.
