Mount Carmel Feast at Huvina Hadagali
The feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel popularly
known as the Feast of Scapular was celebrated at
Carmel Bhavan, Huvina Hadagali mission with
great devotion and fervor. The Pandemic had
caused abrupt closure of the feast for over two
years and this year the faithful were bent upon
to celebrate the feast, took initiatives and
paved the way for its realization. They
enthusiastically contributed towards the
celebration of the feast such as decoration of
our Lady's statue, donning the altar with
colorful flowers and for the festal meal.
On 17th July the solemn festal mass commenced at
11.30 am with the choir resounding the church
with the melodious voices. Fr Henry Moras,
Superior presided over the mass along with Frs.
Victor Pais, Denzil Veigas and Anil Prashanth
Lobo together with 80 faithful and 6 Nuns from
the nearby convent. Fr Anil Prashanth preached
the homily on the relationship between Our Lady
and Mount Carmel. He stated that Climbing a
Mountain is a lifelong journey with Mary, our
protectress and patroness. She is a great model
to imitate as she helps us to know how to climb
the mountain step by step. After the Communion,
the Holy Scapulars, the symbol of Our Lady's
protection, were blessed and distributed. The
mass was concluded at 1 pm. Fr Henry thanked
everyone for the contribution and praised the
generosity of People towards the feast. A piece
of cake was served to all and thereafter all the
people gathered for the agape at Carmel Bhavan
Hall and Fr Denzil prayed the grace over meals.
