CARMEL CHOIR COMPETITION 2014
The Kihonda Carmelite Fathers
hosted a Choir Competition as a sign of evangelization for the
Morogoro vicinity on the 13th December, 2014. The competition
began with the invoking of God’s blessings by Rev. Fr. Marlon
Rodrigues, the Regional Vicar of the Carmelites, Tanzania. Rev.
Fr. Shabas Crasta, the Superior of the Carmelite Community of
Kihonda, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest
Rev. Fr. Leander Jaka, the parish priest of Chalinze and the
Director of the Education board of the Morogoro Diocese. Rev.
Fr. Leander Jaka in his address, thanked and appreciated the
Carmelite Fathers for the initiative taken to host this great
event. ‘As Pope Francis calls us to read the signs of the time
to evangelize the good news of Our Savior, this competition is
one of such efforts and a very fitting way of drawing the people
closer to Jesus and spreading the good news’ he said. Later he
distributed the prizes to the winners of the Carmel Choir
Competition and at the end Rev. Fr. Edwin Mushi thanked each and
every one for making the event delightful one.
