Awaiting the Saviour: Mount Carmel Hosts Advent Spiritual Renewal
In preparation for Christmas, Mount Carmel spirituality Centre hosted an Advent retreat from December 5 to December 7, organized by the Carmelite Fathers of the centre and preached by Rev. Fr Rudolf Valerian D’Souza, himself a Carmelite Priest, serving in Cayuga, ON.

The retreat zeroed in on the theme: “Emmanuel; God with us.” Fr Rudolf preached on the importance of waiting for the Saviour and the meaning of the advent wreath. He also spoke about the different houses of Jesus mentioned in the Sacred Scriptures and ultimately inviting everyone to enter the house of Jesus at the final judgement day.

The retreat was well received and appreciated by the participants. Approximately 28 registered members as well as the neighbours and those who attend the daily Mass in the Centre, partook of this spiritual nourishment.

The retreat was organized by the Fathers of Mount Carmel spirituality Centre in preparation for Christmas. Mount Carmel Spirituality Center plans on organizing and hosting more retreats in the upcoming New Year 2026.
