Palm Sunday Celebration - Pushpashrama
March 24, 2024 - Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday, marks
the beginning of the Holy Week, a significant period in the
Christian calendar leading up to Easter Sunday. At Pushpashrama, the
faithful gathered to commence this sacred time with reverence and
devotion. The celebration at Pushpashrama commenced with the
blessing of palms, a symbolic gesture representing the triumphal
entry of Jesus into Jerusalem before his crucifixion. Fr. Wilfred
Rodrigues, OCD, who presided over the Passion Sunday liturgy, led
the congregation in this solemn ritual, invoking blessings upon the
palm branches, which were then distributed among the faithful. The
entire liturgy revolved around the significance of Palm Sunday
within the context of Christ's journey to the cross.
