Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination
“My soul glorifies the Lord '' – exclaimed the silver jubilarians Frs. Jerald D’Souza and Cyprian Fernandes as they thanked the Lord for His abounding blessings on them for the past 25 years as priests in Carmel. The community of Sadbhavana along with the friars of Bengaluru region joined the jubilarians in praising the Lord through the Eucharistic banquet celebrated on 28th April 2022 at 6-30 pm. The Mass was presided by Fr Jerald D’Souza, the birthday boy and the jubilarian. Fr Wilfred Frank preached an inspiring homily inviting all to taste the heavenly bread by detaching oneself from the earthly things. The liturgy was animated by Fr Clifford D’Souza. After the mass, all gathered at the quadrangle which was decorated by flowers and lights. Fr Prakash D’Cunha compered the programme and Fr George Santhumayor, Provincial raised the toast acknowledging the silent contributions of the jubilarians to the Province. The celebratory dinner was prepared by the famous chef of the Province Fr Nelson Pinto. Frs. Rathan Almeida and Rudolph Pinto joined the celebration along with the brother of Fr Jerry from Bangalore. We thank God for these jubilarians and also remember their companions Frs. Wilfred Pais and Vincent D’Souza who are working in Tanzania and Canada respectively. May God bless their priestly vocation and enable them to march forward with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.
