“Stay with us, Lord”
“Emmaus Wellness Centre” which was inaugurated in the month of January, has now an Oratory! Most Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman, issued a decree on the 15th of March, 2022 and delegated our Provincial, Rev. Fr. George Santhumayor to preside over the rite of blessing. During the Mass which was celebrated on 4th of April, our Provincial blessed the Chapel and new Altar. He gave an insightful homily based on the journey of the two disciples to Emmaus. After Holy Communion, the Blessed Sacrament was taken in procession and then placed in the tabernacle followed by silent adoration. At the end, the decree of the Archbishop was read by Fr. Ronald S. D’Souza. The minutes were signed by some representatives. Fr. Praveen D’Souza, the Director of “Emmaus Wellness Centre” explained the rites and animated the liturgy, while our aspirants led the singing. Fr. Ivo Dias, the Superior, proposed the vote of thanks. The friars and postulants from Carmelite Monastery, Margao, joined the community of Mapusa. Three Pilar fathers, Religious sisters from the neighbouring communities and few lay faithful were also present. Dinner was served for all after the blessing ceremony.
