The Blessing of Carmel Radiance Studio:
Spreading Carmelite Light to the World
September 14, 2024 - on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross,
the Caledonia St. John of the Cross community in Canada celebrated a
significant milestone. After Mass, the community friars, Fr. Jerome
Mascarenhas, Superior Fr. Roshan D’Souza, and Fr. Rudolf D’Souza,
gathered for the blessing of the new Carmel Radiance Studio.
Fr. Jerome opened the event with a speech, underscoring the
significant role of mass media in today’s evangelization efforts. He
emphasized that the Carmelites must actively use these platforms to
promote Carmelite spirituality and spread the Good News of Christ.
Fr. Roshan not only captured the moments through photographs but
also shared insightful feedback on how the studio could evolve into
a center for evangelization and the dissemination of Carmelite
spirituality, both in Canada and beyond. He highlighted its
particular value for the Secular Carmelites, envisioning it as a
fertile ground for the growth of the Carmelite mission.
Fr. Jerome then led the blessing of the studio with prayers, and the
ceremony concluded with a hymn. The Carmel Radiance Studio aims to
connect with a wider audience through platforms like Instagram,
TikTok, and Facebook, engaging people who seek to deepen their
understanding of Carmelite spirituality.
The community congratulated Fr. Rudolf for this innovative
initiative, which marks the beginning of a new chapter in
evangelization. This effort is expected to reach a global audience,
sharing the wisdom and teachings of St. John of the Cross, St.
Teresa of Avila, and St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Heartfelt
congratulations and best wishes to Fr. Rudolf D’Souza as he embarks
on this exciting journey.
