CEREMONIES – LOWER MAINLAND COMMUNITIES : WESTERN CANADA

October 31, 2015, the eve of All Saints Day, was a perfect day for the Ceremonies of our Lower Mainland Communities which took place at St. Edmund’s Parish, North Vancouver, BC In spite of the pouring rain, more than fifty OCDS members together with family and friends witnessed the investiture and profession of the candidates.

The Ceremonies were officiated by Provincial Delegate Fr. Jerald D’Souza OCD. Four candidates were clothed during the Morning Prayer, followed by a solemn Eucharistic Celebration during which two candidates made their First Promise and six candidates made their Definitive Promise.

The Investiture of the Scapular and Profession made by the candidates reminded them that a vocation is a personal call from God. It is an inspired choice involving a specific profession in which a particular way of life is to be followed.

It was a solemn and lovely occasion with tears, many smiles and much love felt by all. After Mass, members and friends proceeded to the parish hall where they enjoyed fellowship over refreshments.
