Carmel Tree Vocation Camp 2024
St. Joseph’s Monastery, Carmel Hill, Bikarnakatte, Mangaluru,
organized a vocation camp, on 8th and 9th of October 2024. The event
was attended by 42 students of the Mangalore region studying in
classes 8-10th who has projected an interest in becoming a
Carmelite. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr. Gregory
Dsouza, the Delegate Superior along with Fr. Stifan Perera, the
Director of Infant Jesus Shrine.
The joy of the camp was enhanced by the total participation and
involvement of the community members. Distinguished speaker, great
artist and movie director Amrin Christon gave a talk to the students
on ‘How to Think Creatively.’ Alongside him, Mrs. Leena Rodrigues,
the mother of Rev. Fr Aaron Babusha Rodrigues gave an inspirational
talk to the students on how a vocation camp can change into a call
to religious life. Other local regional Vocation promoters
contributed their participation, thus making the Carmel Tree
Vocation Camp 2024 a huge success. The beauty and the joy of the
camp was further enhanced by the presence and participation of the
Rev. Fr Aaron Babusha Rodrigues and brothers from Asha Deepa.
Carmel Tree Vocation Camp 2024 was indeed a boost to the aspirants
and offered help to those seeking to discern their vocation to
religious life. The vocation promotors extend their gratitude to the
community and the province. May these youngsters be inspired to
follow God, and to be beacon of Divine love in this world!
The province expresses its gratitude to Fr. Wilson Tauro, Regional
Vocation Promoter, Fr. Rayan T. Pinto, Assistant Vocation Promoter
for Mangalore, and all other vocation promoters of the region for
meticulously organizing this camp and instilling in the students an
initial interest in Carmelite life.
