Transformative Silent Retreat at Little
Flower Monastery: Rediscovering Identity in God
From October 4th to 6th, 2024, the Institute for Christian Action
and Contemplation hosted a powerful weekend silent retreat at Little
Flower Monastery, Carmel Hill, Deroche, BC. This retreat, themed
"Where Are You? Who Am I?", welcomed 16 participants from various
Chinese churches, offering them a peaceful space for deep reflection
and spiritual growth.
The retreat emphasized rediscovering one's identity in God and
provided a unique opportunity for attendees to disconnect from the
distractions of daily life. Through silence, prayer, and insightful
teachings, participants were invited to reflect on their personal
journeys, helping them strengthen their connection with a loving
God. One participant shared, "Every time I tell my life story, I
gain a deeper and new understanding of myself."
The retreat speakers—Dr. Thomas, Pastor Stanley, and Pastor
Howard—were instrumental in guiding attendees through this process.
Their carefully prepared messages helped participants explore new
perspectives on their identities in God, highlighting God’s
unconditional love and boundless mercy. They emphasized how God
tirelessly seeks to save sinners, offering His love as a constant
source of strength and renewal.
As the weekend came to a close, many attendees expressed their
gratitude for the profound insights they gained and their renewed
sense of purpose. The retreat inspired them to live lives that
reflect God's glory and to carry the messages of love and mercy they
received into their everyday lives.
