Sr Therese Marie commits herself to JESUS in CARMEL
On October 1, 2022, the Cloistered Carmel of Mangalore had reason to rejoice and jubilate as Sr Therese Marie of Divine Mercy made her solemn profession on the feast day of St Therese of Child Jesus. The Eucharist was presided over by the Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore. Fr. George Santhumayor, Provincial of KG Province, preached an inspiring homily inviting the faithful to detach themselves from the world and attach themselves to the person of Jesus Christ. He lauded Sr Therese Marie's boldness in embracing life within the four walls of Carmel in order to be forever united to Jesus. There were 14 priests and a large number of religious and laity attended the profession mass. Following the homily, Sr Therese Marie made her solemn profession in the hands of Sr Mary Mabel, Prioress of Mangalore Carmel.

Sr Therese Marie is from Saripalla, which is attached to the Holy Cross Church in Kulshekar. Her profession has brought joy and delight to the Carmelite Order. After the mass, the Bishop thanked her parents for submitting her to the Cloistered Carmel convent. Deacon Robin Joyson Santhumayor animated the solemn profession ceremony. Fr Alphonse Fernandes, S.J., thanked the congregation on behalf of the Cloistered Carmel Sisters. The KG Province congratulates Sr Therese Marie and prays for her.
