Mission Sunday Celebrations at Pushpashrama
On November 3, 2024, the Pushpashrama Community came together to
celebrate Mission Sunday with fervour. Friars, brothers, and OCDS
members united in a spirit of missionary zeal, dedicating their day
to supporting the missions.
The homilies of the three Masses of the day were a powerful reminder
of every Christian's missionary vocation. As the congregation exited
the Shrine, they were greeted with a delightful array of breakfast
options. The aroma of sizzling pork and freshly-made dosas filled
the air, tantalizing taste buds and fuelling bodies for a day of fun
and faith. The OCDS members made available a delicious lunch.
After the spiritual and physical nourishment, the attention of the
faithful was drawn to the game stalls. Brothers organized a variety
of engaging games, bringing laughter and joy to all. The friars
actively participated, creating a sense of camaraderie and shared
purpose. Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues, with his charismatic flair, expertly
compered the event, encouraging the faithful to immerse themselves
in the missionary spirit as they explored the various stalls.
To add to the excitement, the crowd gathered for rounds of
housie-housie, fostering a sense of community and friendly
competition. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the
tireless efforts of the community and in particular, the brothers.
Their unwavering commitment to the mission of the Church is a
testament to the bright future of Carmel.
