Youth Retreat at Matadakeri, Honnavar
On February 28th 2021 one day youth retreat was held at Stella Maris Monastery, Matadakeri, Honnavar to the youth of the deanery and this was the first venture of the community in the realm of retreat. There were 314 youth from different parishes. “You are precious” was the theme for the day. Frs. Stephen Lobo and Juje D’Souza through their lively reflections and meaningful adoration made the youth to have fruitful retreat and the experience of the Divine. Fr. Royston Gonsalves, the youth director of the Diocese of Karwar, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and Fr. Benson the assistant parish priest of Gundibala, Fr. Suresh Saldanha, the parish priest of Matadakeri concelebrated.

Many deanery priests paid visits during the day and encouraged and supported the participants and appreciated the hard work and the collaboration of the community. Mr. Marshon Fernandes from Xellim, kept the youth vibrant, lively and active through his Music and action songs. During their evaluation, the participants highly appreciated it and expressed their experience and requested the community to have once again.
