Convocation Day at Ryshivana – A Celebration
of Gratitude and Achievement
March 7, 2025, was a significant day for the community of Ryshivana
and its participants as they gathered for the solemn and joyous
occasion of Convocation. The celebrations commenced with a
Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Fr. Silvester D’Souza,
Provincial of the Karnataka-Goa Province. Fr. Alphonse Britto,
Councillor for Spirituality, delivered a meaningful homily,
emphasizing the profound importance of gratitude in life. The
solemnity of the Eucharist was further enriched by the presence of
concelebrating priests from Carmel Hill, Bajodi, and Koteshwar.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the congregation proceeded to
the hall for the convocation ceremony. Fr. Alvito Fernandes
presented a concise report detailing the various activities and
events that had taken place at Ryshivana. This was followed by the
presidential address by Fr. Provincial, who shared words of
encouragement and appreciation. The highlight of the ceremony was
the distribution of certificates to the 23 participants, a moment of
pride and accomplishment, officiated by Fr. Alphonse Britto.
A special moment of gratitude was dedicated to Fr. Rudolph Pinto,
who was honoured for his dedicated service as the Director of
Ryshivana. He was assured of the community’s prayers as he embarks
on his new mission as Secretary to the Commission for Liturgy at the
National Level.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Fr. Joy,
expressing appreciation to all who contributed to making the day
meaningful. The convocation festivities came to a joyful close with
a sumptuous dinner, marking the occasion with warmth and fraternity.
