OCDS at Margao: Marching ahead!
The members of St Therese of the Child Jesus OCDS community, joined in celebration on 29th of August 2021, along with their spiritual assistant, Fr. Silvestre D’Souza OCD. It was the day of the first official elections of their Local Council and the vestition ceremony.

Before the mass at Lar de Santa Terezinha Chapel Margao, Goa, there was adoration for half an hour, when all gazed in silence at the Eucharistic Lord, begging him to touch each one. Fr. Deep Fernandes, the Delegate Provincial presided over the mass and delivered a meaningful homily based on the readings of the day, inviting the members to let God move from their lips, to their heart.

After an enriching year in the aspirancy, thirteen candidates entered into Initial Formation – I. Mrs. Effie Viegas, the Director of Formation led the members to the altar and Fr. Deep Fernandes, gave the Bible and Book of Constitutions to each one of them and vested them with Ceremonial Brown Scapular. They are:

Martina Rodrigues of St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Aldrin L Coutinho of St. Joseph
Jyotsna J Coutinho of St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Richard Fernandes of St. Anthony of Padua
Remy Fernandes of St. Therese of the Child Jesus
Mureen Kevin of St. Francis of Assisi

One candidate was inducted into Aspirancy:
Victoria Tereza A Burman

The Provincial Council arranged a short reception in the hall, after the Mass. Mr. Roy Rodrigues, the President was away in Bangalore due to an emergency and all missed him very much. Mrs. Effie Viegas as master of the ceremony entertained all with her humour. The programme ended with snacks and coffee.
