Golden Jubilee Celebration
April 06, 2021 was a red-letter day in the history of the K.G. Province. We celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the Religious Profession of Frs. Jossey Rodrigues, Charles Serrao and Joe Tauro. The spiritual celebration commenced at 4-30 pm with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr Charles Serrao along with fifty concelebrants. Fr Joe Tauro in his homily highlighted the importance of religious life in the Church. Fr Johannes Gorantla, Definitor General represented the General administration. Fr Jossey Rodrigues due to ill health could not be present for the celebration.

After the mass, the invitees assembled in the monastery courtyard to greet the jubilarians. Fr Wilfred Rodrigues acted as the master of ceremonies. Relatives of Fr Charles Serrao performed a welcome dance. Fr Lancy Lovis welcomed the gathering. Fr Provincial in his speech acknowledged the yeomen contributions of the jubilarians to the Province and the Order and later felicitated them on behalf of the entire Province along with the Provincial Councillors. Fr Johannes Gorantla in his address thanked the jubilarians for the immense contributions to the Order in the various capacities. Fr Lawrence D’Mello, companion of the jubilarians toasted them displaying the multifaceted qualities of their rich personalities. The Theology students wished the jubilarians with a delightful and melodious song. The Asha Deepa Brothers exhibited Yakshagana, creatively composed and directed by Fr Alwyn Sequeira that became a centre of attraction. Concluding, the two jubilarians proclaimed the great works God had accomplished in their lives and the whole audience was full of God’s praises.

The Karnataka Goa Province wholeheartedly acknowledges the selfless service of the Jubilarians and wishes them every success in the days to come.
